Taggarts Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant
About
Taggarts Ice Cream was established in 1926 in Canton, Ohio. It has the original marble top counter, old wood and tile floors, and maple high back booths. People can also dine in wrought iron ice cream parlor chairs. It also has a 1940's player piano.
According to their website, "The most famous Taggarts legacy is the Bittner - invented in 1931 and named in honor of a delivery boy. This is a secret mixture of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and pecans from a special supplier in Georgia. The end result is a dessert which has the consistency of a milkshake but is too thick to drink." Source: http://taggartsicecream.com/About_Us.html
Taggarts also serves homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches. Plus, all the ice cream parlor favorites - ice cream cones, banana splits, ice cream pies, flavored Cokes, phosphates, and more!
