About

The Parkette Drive-In Restaurant is an ORIGINAL1950's drive-in restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky.  It originally opened November 11, 1951. The tremendous and fabulous Parkette Drive-in sign was created in the mid 50's for around $10,000. According to their website, about $1,000 is spent every year to maintain the 30 to 40 foot sign and to replace the transformers and lights.

Known for their Poor Boy Burger, their Smiley Burger, and a variety of classics. They used to call their chicken "Kentucky Fried Chicken" (not related to the KFC restaurant). The Parkette still fries their chicken in lard.

They still serve food to people in their cars, and they also have a diner style restaurant if you'd prefer to dine inside.

Open 11 am Monday - Saturday. Closed Sunday.
