"Worcester Lunch Car Company #818.   The Miss Portland Diner has been a historic part of Portland, Maine since 1949.  The city of Portland, as well as the residents and tourists, deserve to have this great architectural landmark back in operation, not only as a charming and warm eatery, but as a means to preserve an important part of the City’s cultural history.

In the restoration process, the actual dining car was returned to as close to its original form as possible.  While keeping the Miss Portland Diner authentic, an additional dining room was added to enhance the MPD dining experience.  The end product is a Miss Portland Diner that will be an even more important part of the City’s cultural heritage, seating nearly 100 customers for breakfast, lunch and dinner."

MPD Hours:  Sunday - Tuesday  7am to 3pm;  Wednesday - Saturday  7am to 9pm

Driving Directions:  Take 1-295 North or South to Exit 7 (US 1A/Franklin Street) make right at first light onto Marginal Way.  Miss Portland Diner will be on your right.
