Route 20 Ice Cream is a charming ice cream parlor in Orchard Park, located in an old gas station. The decor is 50's vintage gas station themed. They have 32 flavors of Perry's hard ice cream, plus soft serve custard and fat free Wow Cow! Plus, slush puppies, milkshakes, ice cream cakes, sundaes and more!

The Mad Greek is a kitschy Greek restaurant in Baker, California that advertises that it has the best Greek food in the world. If you love kitschy restaurants, you'll love this place. I can't really say it represents ONE era. It has blue booths, which one might typically classify as 50's, but the blue in this case represents Greek colors. You'll see neon too. You'll also see decor that will remind you of ancient Greece. The sign has a 70's vibe to it. I think it has been open since the 80's, but I'm really not sure. This location is the Kraus Pizza - Massillon, Ohio location on Amherst Rd. I am not sure which Kraus location was the original, but from what I have seen on their pizza boxes, Kraus' Pizza has been in business since 1959. Of all the places on the Retropolis site, Kraus' Pizza is one of the few places that is a personal family favorite that goes way back. My family used to order it when I was a little girl in North Canton, Ohio, and no matter where we lived after that, my dad would say that Kraus' Pizza was still the best. If you love to see antique "junk" and vintage "junk" strewn all over the place, you'll love Hillbilly Hot Dogs. I say "junk" with love, because this is not a museum where one will find antiques in pristine condition displayed behind glass cases. This is a fun, festive place where you'll find a variety of old stuff all over the place. The name of this restaurant, Hillbilly Hotdogs, gives you a clue about the inspiration for the decor. Stamey's Barbecue in Greensboro, North Carolina has been in business since 1938, serving Lexington style BBQ. Stamey's has been at this location since 1953. In 1979 the current building replaced the 1950's drive-in at this same location. The barbecue is still slow cooked over a pit of hardwood hickory coals.  read more...

Kermit's Hot Dog House is a 60's drive-in restaurant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kermit's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It still looks very vintage, including neon signs. There are picnic tables outside and  smaller sized blue booths inside. Cash only.

Paul's Lincoln County Pharmacy and Soda Fountain in Davenport, Washington originally opened in 1909. In the 60's, the soda fountain in the pharmacy was removed, but the current owner decided to bring a soda fountain back. As you can see in the YouTube video provided in the link, the soda fountain seems to be a hit!

Person Street Pharmacy and Soda Fountain in Raleigh, NC is the last remaining soda fountain in Raleigh. It opened 100 years ago, in 1910. You'll find what you might expect to find in the drug store - medicine, medical supplies, and greeting cards. Plus, you'll find a soda fountain counter with tables and chairs, and a blue and white checkered floor. The soda fountain serves biscuits, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, salad, ice cream, shakes, Ruby's homemade cakes, soft drinks, coffee, cherry smash, orangeade, lemonade, and limeade.
