The Four Chimneys Restaurant in Old Bennington, Vermont is located at the Four Chimneys Inn. This fine dining restaurant is open for dinner to both inn guests and non-inn guests. Saratoga Grill in Hillborough, North Carolina opened in February 1995, and, although it's not an old restaurant, it's listed at Retropolis because it's located in a great old building. The owners moved to North Carolina from Upstate, New York. The first restaurant one of the owners worked for was in Saratoga Springs, New York. That's how it got it's name. Saratoga Springs, NY is well known for horse racing, and the owners of the restaurant are horse fans, so you'll notice that the horse logo suits Saratoga Grill perfectly.  read more...

The Best Cellar Restaurant is located in Blowing Rock, North Carolina in a turn of the century building that was built as a summer cottage. The restaurant was established in 1975 at a different location - a basement on Main Street where they also sold books. That's how it got the name "The Best Cellar".
