Vintage Owls and a 1950's Monster Sighting
Autumn is on the way and Halloween is a month and a half away, so this is the time of year for owl collectors to have more of a selection to choose from when adding to their owl collection, whether they prefer new, antique, or vintage owls. Or, if you're an owl collector, maybe you prefer all three! Or, what about hand crafted owls at craft fairs? WHO knew there would be so many owls to choose from?
I wondered if any owl collectors would show their owl collection on YouTube, and sure enough, I found the above video. Cute collection, huh! I'll bet that every person who watches it could choose different favorites. That is, unless they're an owl hater. But, who HATES owls? The owl towel (loving that rhyme!) that she showed in the video was darling, and I can relate to wanting to keep certain kitchen towels in excellent condition, without fading them or staining them. Thank you to BlackoutBlonde for posting her cute owl collection on YouTube.
Did you know that an OWL may be to blame for a monster sighting on this date in 1952? On September 12, 1952, a UFO and a 10 foot tall monster with claw like fingers were spotted in Flatwoods, West Virginia. Could the monster have been a barn owl in a tree? Here's a 1952 newspaper article which shows how people described the "Frankenstein-like monster": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flatwoods_monster_newspaper1.png

I must say, that's the scariest sound of any type of baby that I've ever heard!
