Vintage 50's Lucite Purses

People either seem to hate 1950's lucite purses, or they love them. I LOVE them. I don't really understand the whole love vs. hate thing most of the time when it comes to "stuff" because usually there is something in every category of "stuff" that I find likeable. Actually, that's true for people too. Sometimes I hear people say "People either love me or hate me. There is no in between." Usually with people like that, I do fall into the in-between category. Are there really that many people that either love or hate something or someone with no in-between? Whatever happened to LIKE?

People seem to love or hate aluminum Christmas trees too. I have one, and I LOVE it. I can't tell you enough how much I love that tree. But, I have also met plenty of people, including antique dealers, who have told me they've always hated those trees. This topic either comes up during Christmas time at antique stores, or at estate sales. I don't bother to tell them, "I have one! And I love it like crazy!" because that will put them through the whole "Oh shoot, well, I didn't mean ALL aluminum trees...." awkward conversation. It's okay. We don't have to all love the same things.

But, can't the haters of lucite purses see ANYTHING good about these purses? How about the functionality? You set it down, and it wont tip over. It has compartments that are convenient to access. If you spill holiday punch on it, you simply wipe it clean. They don't deteriorate the way that beaded bags, leather bags, vinyl bags, etc. deteriorate. In fact, they'll last longer than most purses with proper care. So, come on.... don't be a lucite purse hater. Like 'em at least a little bit.

As for me, I love them all, but I love some of them even MORE.
