Summer Fun is Here! Sliding on your Slip N Slide
One of the coolest summer activities (literally) as a child was the yellow plastic Slip N Slide. When I was a kid, they didn't have a bumper at the end. You just slid right off onto the soggy, wet grass. Children somehow have the ability to throw themselves down on their tummies for hours just to experience the thrill of a water slide. It definitely worked great even on flat surfaces, and it left a long strip of flattened rectangular grass for a few days afterwards as a reminder of all the slipping and sliding that happened there. I remember my parents had to remind us to turn off the water when we were done, and I didn't understand how it was possible to waste water. I assumed water was free because there would always be rain to provide more water, so why would anyone be charged for something (rain) that happened freely from above? I also didn't grasp the concept of water conservation for this same reason. Although my parents taught us not to waste water, I wondered how water could be wasted when there was always more where that came from. Or, so I thought.
If you're a regular water saver, and you want to splurge sometimes in the summer for summer fun to cool off, a Slip N Slide is the way to do it!
unclejohnthezef created this fun youtube to demonstrate how to make an even longer Slip N Slide. Whamo warns not to do that, but it's fun to see his demonstration anyway!
