Remember Tiki Gardens - Retro Florida Attraction

In a previous Blah Blah Blah, I mentioned that Florida has had many great retro attractions (and still has many worth visiting). One of Florida's great retro treasures that no longer exists is Tiki Gardens.

This is what I said about it previously: "I remember going to "Tiki Gardens" with my grandmother as a kid. I felt like she had taken me to Hawaii. There were big Tikis and tropical birds everywhere and the place looked like a Polynesian paradise. I got a Hawaiian doll there. Of course, after that I was obsessed with the hula and wanted a grass skirt of my own. I finally got one. I recently found out that Tiki Gardens is gone too. All the Tikis and all the hut buildings are gone. I heard that a parking lot now takes up some of it's space."

A kind reader, Tiki Gardener, emailed to let me know that Tiki Gardens is on the web and would like to invite us to "view the longest running website dedicated to this lost tropical paradise."

You can view the Tiki Gardens Memorial at

If you've never been to Tiki Gardens, now you have a chance to view a place that my grandmother used to call Paradise. Those who love anything Tiki will likely feel little drops of sadness in your heart over a place that Tiki dreams are made of that we can no longer visit in person. However, Tiki Gardener, who created the site, really captured the magic of Tiki Gardens. I loved seeing it again, learning new things about it, and was very inspired by the story of the creation of it. May you be inspired too! Thanks Tiki Gardener, for bringing Tiki Gardens back to life on the net!
