Mowing in Maryland is Fun with the Greenbelt Reel Lawnmower Society Precision Drill Team
Today Retropolis travels to Greenbelt, Maryland for our retro tour of America to watch the Greenbelt Reel Lawnmower Society Precision Drill Team. Don't they make mowing look like fun!
Earth Day is coming up, and this Drill Team is green in every way. Sure, grass is green, but what makes these mowers even greener is the fact that they are promoting the use of good, old fashioned reel mowers. The reel mowers don't require gas or electricity. Just push and mow!
Yes, these reel push mowers are still made today and they are great for small lawns. No pollution, they are lightweight and easy to push, no gas or electric costs, and they last much longer than gas or electric mowers. Many hardware stores have them, or you can find one online - whether you want one that is new or vintage.

If I lived in Maryland I would join this group.
I would love to have these people as my neighbors too. They would not wake me up early every Saturday with the loud gas machines. Plus they would be fun neighbors to have and I would do mowing routines with them. I need to get one of those types of mowers first. Peace to Retropolis, Sarah
