Happy Veteran's Day! Here's a soldier reuniting with his mom, surprising her two weeks early.
This video was so sweet that it brought tears to my eyes. I found this on YouTube, thanks to troy2830. The soldier's name is Errick, and this video shows him surprising his mom, Tracy, when he returned from Iraq for two weeks on June 1, 2009 - two weeks early. His mom's reaction is precious, and really shows the love between a mother and child.
Thank You to all Veterans! Thank you to my dad too, who is also a Veteran, but who has always been very humble about it. He didn't get to meet my brother until my brother was six months old. My parents had to spend a year apart, and my mom had to go through her first pregnancy on her own. I don't know how they made it through that year apart, but I do believe that distance makes the heart grow fonder, because they still hold hands every day.
Spending time away from their families is a sacrifice Veterans make, and it's a sacrifice their families make also. When you think of all the letters and packages that have gone back and forth overseas over the years between soldiers and their loved ones, there must have been billions of them. I can't even imagine how many tear drops have fallen by Veterans and their families.
Speaking of tears, here are a few more videos that might bring you tears... tears of joy, that is:
