Going on a Vacation? How about the Wagon Queen Family Truckster?

If you ever saw the movie "Vacation", you know what an important role the station wagon played in the movie. hotrodtiki200 created this YouTube video AND their very own Wagon Queen Family Truckster, based on the station wagon in the movie "Vacation". I think in the movie the salesman called the green color "metallic pea". The station wagon in the movie didn't exist in real life, and was modified to appear as over-the-top and tacky as possible. I love how the person in the video modified a station wagon to create their own Family Truckster station wagon too!

What would a summer be without a long car trip in a station wagon? Well, that's how summers USED TO BE anyway. Rather than an SUV or minivan, the station wagon was the family traveling car. My family had one, and we loved it! My favorite section of the stationwagon was the back bench seat which faced BACKWARDS. We'd look out the back window and try to get people to wave at us. On car trips, however, the back seat was flattened down to create the perfect area for me to stretch out and sleep, or I could sit in the middle bench seat with my brother. That station wagon seemed HUGE to me, as though I was a mile away from the front seat when I was in the very back. My parents would cross over into Florida a whole mile before I got there.
