Glamorous Vintage Lingerie of the Past

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is on TV tonight. That got me thinking about what lingerie has looked like over the years in comparison to lingerie of today. I found this video on YouTube (thanks to glamourdaze for creating it!) which shows lingerie and glamorous fashion over the years. You won't see angel wings or women walking down sparkling runways. Instead you'll see vintage slips, corsets, and thigh high stockings. 

Women back then liked to show how they put on their stockings with ease. In comparison, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show likes to show how hectic the production of the fashion show is backstage. Will she get dressed in time? Will her wings stay on straight? Will her shoe fall off? All are important backstage themes.

One theme I noticed in this video was the dressing table. Women loved their dressing tables and mirrors. My favorite was the art deco dressing table that starts at 1:05. 

You might recognize Bettie Page in the last scene.
