The Farmer's Market in Los Angeles
Summer is approaching, that time of year when people particularly enjoy visiting local farm stands and farmer's markets. One of the most famous farmers markets in the U.S. is The Farmer's Market in Los Angeles, which celebrated it's 75th anniversary last year.
A sign in front of the Farmer's Market reads "Meet me at Third and Fairfax" (which is indeed where the market is located). What began in 1934 as a dirt parking lot where farmers sold produce off the back of their trucks is now a historic landmark and popular destination in LA for tourists and locals. In addition to fruit, vegetables and flowers, people can buy clothing, bath and body products, jewelry, vintage memorabilia, housewares, books and magazines, and a variety of fun products. It is also home to many great restaurants, some of which offer seating and table service. There is also open air patio seating. Some of the restaurants that have been loved by locals for many, many years include Du-par's Restaurant, Magee's Kitchen, and Bob's Coffee & Doughnuts.
