Croquet - a fun summer lawn game

My family has enjoyed many fun games of croquet over the years. There are proper croquet rules to follow for how the game should be set up, but I like to set up the croquet game more like a miniature golf course, placing the hoops around the yard in a little trail so the game is more interesting. To me it's much more fun to hit a ball so that it flies past a pink flamingo or yard gnome.

I love that the family in this video looks so perfect while they are playing. By today's standards, they would be considered very dressed up to play croquet. These days people usually wear t-shirts and shorts while playing lawn games.

Notice how their grass looks perfect too? Like green carpeting. In my imagination, it's such a perfect scene that I like to imagine that there were no ticks back then, no mosquitoes, no need for SPF, no sunburn, and no sweat - because the temperatures in the summer were always perfect. It looks like the perfect weather. At the end of the video, you'll see that after the game, the baby gets to enjoy a little sun and the breeze in the shade, while dad relaxes with a beer. Doesn't this video look like the perfect, dreamy summer scene?

Hi!

Hi Dear Friend! What a lovely summer memory you have of playing croquet with your family. Horse shoes is about as close to that as we've come.
Wanted to let you know I'm planning a trip to Raleigh August 28th and 29th. I'd love to see you if you can. Laura thought about having a little get together on Saturday night. Hopefully you'll be able to:)
Have a great weekend!
Love, Stacey
