Cranston, Rhode Island - Where you can find all your favorite childhood candy!

Thanks to RIMagbiz for posting a video on youtube that brings out the child in all of us. It's time for a candy break in our retro tour of America on our stop in Rhode Island. Jolly John's looks like it would have any candy of the past that you've been missing. I recognize those pixie stix in the big jar next to him. At least, that's what I think those are called.... those paper straws filled with colorful sugar powder of some sort.

I love the way the walls are decorated with all our favorite candy logos and colorful stripes (reminds me of a circus or fruit stripe gum). You know you just wanted to dig your hand into one of those jars the way the kids did in the candy store in the Willie Wonka movie. I wonder if they have those little pastel wedding shower type candies. And what about Brach's? Remember how Brachs used to be in supermarkets and you could put a nickel in the metal box and get a piece of candy? Brachs has those great neopolitan chewy things.

He mentioned licorice. Who doesn't love licorice? I don't even remeber what a CLARK bar tastes like or if I've ever had one at all, but I love that logo on the wall. I see the sign that says WAX FANGS on the wall - haha! Great memories! I wonder if they have those mini wax soda pop bottles that you bite into and some sort of juice comes out. And what about those colorful little candy bits on scrolls of paper? Such fun to scrape off with your teeth! And let us not ignore tha glass case in the room holding the diamonds of the candy world - chocolate and fudge.

Just looking at this place is bringing back all the memories - and yet I've never even been there! Looks fun though! Anyway, I looked up the address for Jolly John's and here it is:
