Cheering in Connecticut in the 1970's
In Connecticut, we visit a cheerleading squad in the 70's. With their plaid skirts and blue sweaters over long sleeved crisp white blouses, they seem so much more sweet and innocent than cheerleaders of today. However, I did notice around the one minute mark of the video, that the second girl in line pushed the girl in front forward. Meow!
I can't help but wonder if these girls have pain in their knees today. I think every jump in this home movie either started or ended with them bending their knees to a low squat. Ouch!

Home movies
I love old home movies. I wish we could hear the original cheers but I know home movies didn't have sound. That song was perfect. I want a plaid skirt like that but I promise I won't push anybody. LOL. Peace, Sarah
I always miss the sound too.
It's tough too when you see people talking to the camera & you just wish you could hear what they were saying. I'm so glad there were home movies at all, of course. If only those were around thousands of years ago.
