Be Careful... You Never Know When a Homosexual is About
While I love many aspects of the 1950's, this is one thing I don't love - the propaganda intended to scare people. You have to admit though that some of the lines in this 50's "educational" film are so insane that they are laughable, like the one I used in my title: "Be careful... you never know when a homosexual is about."
Really? And just what am I supposed to be careful of? Making a new friend? Or, should I be careful of treating all humans as equal human beings? Or, should I pretend that I am in some way better because I am not gay?
I thought the definition in the film "a person who demands an intimate relationship with someone of their own sex" was interesting. I think the word "demands" was chosen over other words because it sounds so much more demanding than "prefers", as if gay people are foreceful in some way. I also think that the film tries to imply that homosexuals are predators. They got those two words completely mixed up.
