50's Drive-In Movie Theatre Toy: The Remco Movieland Drive-in Theater

There were thousands of drive-in movie theatres in America in the 1950's. So, it's no surprise that a drive-in movie theater toy was created for children in the 50's. This gave them the chance to recreate the fun of the drive-in theatre even while they were at home.  Made in 1959, the Remco Movieland Drive-in Theater was one of Remco's earliest toys. Some of Remco's popular toys over the years include the Universal Monsters figures of the 80's, the Lost in Space robot of the 60's, and the 60's Star Trek Astro Cruiser.

You might recognize a very young Patty Duke in the commercial for the Remco Movieland Drive-in Theater. This drive-in toy looks fun even now, 50 years later.
