25 Years Ago - 1984 - Do They Know Its Christmas

I love this song and video even more after 25 years. Pure 80's magic! It's hard to believe these people were all together in one place on one very special day. I love that so many people, both the musicians and the fans who bought the music, wanted to do something to try to make the world a better place. It's sad that 25 years later there are still so many people in the world who are starving, but it doesn't have to stay that way forever.

Perhaps instead of New Years Resolutions that focus on what we should do to improve ourselves in the next year, maybe the shift should be what we can do to improve the world over the next 25 years. The list could start with small goals that get bigger over time. It seems that most people don't keep their New Years Resolutions anyway. Maybe that's because the focus is on ME ME ME. Maybe for once if we focus on the world as a whole, and focus our attention outward, we can accomplish much more in the world. Besides, that would make each of us feel more positive, which would help us to accomplish our personal goals too.
