1960's Space Age Clothing
52 years ago, President Eisenhower signed the National Aeronautics and Space Act, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration was born. NASA began on this day, July 29, 1958.
Only 11 years later, humans set foot on the moon for the very first time. A lot of other changes in the world were also happening quickly over the decade following the beginning of NASA. Many people were ready for the future, and it showed even in futuristic clothing designs.
To celebrate the 52nd anniversary of NASA, here's a video of futuristic space age fashion of the 1960's. Clearly astronauts were not wearing these outfits as uniforms. It's just great to see the creativity and new ideas that were inspired by the space age, even outside of NASA.
Thank you to cosmocorps2000 for posting this video on YouTube. cosmocorps2000 stated that "The music is "DEJA VU" from Mort Garson's Ataraxia The Unexplained (1975)."

Ahhh...Space!
When I was a little girl I wanted to be an astronaut. I read books about space at night when I couldn't sleep. Memorized all kinds of info. As luck would have it I am petrified of flying. So much for blasting off! Hahahaha.....great post!
